ELLIOTT HALL, a two-and-a-half-story stone and brick structure, long a private home, is now used as residence apartments for members of the teaching staff. It is one of the oldest building in Newark, erected probably at the outbreak of the American Revolution. It is a notable example of late Georgian Colonial architecture with exterior walls of Flemish-bond brick, well-proportioned dormer windows and fine interior woodwork.  -Delaware: A Guide to the First State, 1938, pg. 227.

Elliott Hall now is used by the University of Delaware for its Institute of Global Studies.  It is in excellent condition.

It is a contributing building in the Old College Historic District listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
