Edmond Fine Arts Institute has developed a small piece of land on the west side of the main building, turning it into an activity area and a park honoring Mitzi Hancuff for her 25 years of service. She started working for the FAI in 1988 when classes were held in a tiny room of a church. Today the FAI boasts a very large facility north of Downtown Edmond, and offers hundreds of classes to children and adults.
Entrance to Mitzi's Park is off the north side of Edwards. You can't miss the beautiful arch with the name of the park and an art palette included in the ironworks. A large plaque/stepping stone on the sidewalk has the following text:
