The Dix home has been a general store and a single family dwelling. It is a wood framed one and half story structure with clapboard siding. The entrance is centered on the house and has sidelights flanking the door and a faux fan light over the door. The are two dormers on the front with some intricate architectural detail. Attached to the back of the house is an ell which is attached to the barn in the back.
