Details are unclear, but it is reasonable to assume that this memorial honors local area servicemen, primarily those killed in World War II. Findagrave may shed a little light about those listed:

There are listings for both Lawrence E. and Winfred O. Woods as having gone down with the USS Oklahoma at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. (visit link) and (visit link)

Findagrave lists a "Gail B. Mote" in Alvord Cemetery up the road in Alvord, with a death date of June 11, 1944. This may be the Gale Mote referenced on the memorial. (visit link)

Unfortunately, there are too many listings for Joe Arnold and its variants to narrow down who exactly this is. Interestingly, though, there is a Private John Arnold buried here, listed as having died during World War I. (visit link)

Mr. Redwine was a World War II casualty, listed as missing, but there is a memorial to him at Pleasant Grove Cemetery #3, near Chico, TX. (visit link)

There is an Ivan D. Harvey buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, and he died in 1943. (visit link)

Cleo T. Cooper is buried at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur, TX. He died on June 6, 1944, a casualty at the invasion of Normandy Beach. (visit link)
