The Duc de Richleau is investigating Simon Aron, thinking him to be involved in the occult. Together with his friend Rex van Rijn, the Duc manages to rescue Simon and another cult initiate, Tanith. They take the pair to friends of theirs, the Eatons.
Mocata visits the Eatons to try to get the initiates back. Failing in his attempt he forces the houses occupants to defend themselves from black magic attacks. The attacks culminate with the conjuring of the angel of death. The Duc manages to repel the angel of death, however it kills Tanith. Mocata in revenge kidnaps the Eaton’s daughter Peggy. The Duc gets Tanith’s spirit to possess Peggy’s mother, in an attempt to trace Mocata.
Simon tries to find Peggy on his own and is recaptured by the cult. The Duc, van Rijn and Peggy’s mother follow the cult to their coven room. Once there Tanith, through Peggy’s mother, recites a spell which kills the members of the cult and reverses time. The time reversal brings Tanith back to life and defeats Mocata.
