The corner is just E of the intersection of SW Obsidian Avenue with S Canal Boulevard in Redmond.
Type of survey mark: 3-1/4" brass cap on pipe; rising about 1" from a stone-faced 19x19x19" monument on which are mounted two brass plaques

What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?:
Power pole #PPL 165004 with a nail and brass washer stamped COUNTY SURVEYOR bears N42°E, 5.2' distant. There are two reference monuments shown in the photographs, 1-1/2" aluminum caps on aluminum rods flush with the top of the curb.


What property is this mark defining?:
Survey history is found in Deschutes County Surveyors Office, Oregon Corner Restoration Record No. 1875. This monument was constructed by the Central Oregon Chapter of Profession Land Surveyors of Oregon as a tribute to Ellithorpe Garrette (Al) Mansfield, 1894-1981. Al Mansfield held Oregon Survey License No. 10. He was the Manager of the Central Oregon Irrigation District and did most of the Redmond area surveys.
