The postal service started in Byron Creek in 1891. The Post Master General asked for the towns name to be changed and in 1894 it became Bangalow. Postal services were carried out in several premises until a Post Office was built on this site in 1908. It was destroyed by fire in 1930. It was replaced by the current brick building in 1935.
