The Edith Centre is presently home to a range of retail shops, and McDonald's has set up business on the ground level.
Although it appears on the list of the
Art Deco Blog, there seems to be no information on its construction and history, although apparently regarded as a landmark in the city.
The twelve white Roman numerals of the clock are mounted directly on the exterior surface of the central tower, with the hands in the center of a smaller black circle.
One of the features of this building that seems to catch the eye of visitors and photographers are the relief sculptures of seagulls in flight over stylized waves along the upper frieze of the building. It is a gem of art-deco architecture that contributes to the charm of Blackpool.
