Bombo Railway Station is only metres away from Bombo Beach but as there is no pedestrian bridge you need to walk a few hundred metres to an underpass to go surfing.
Bombo Railway Station began as North Kiama in 1887, then Kiama in 1889 then back to North Kiama in 1893 before taking its present name in 1907. The station is locked but there is a waiting room & ticketing machine. Trains stop at the station in both directions. It has parking off the Princes Highway but its main users are young body boarders who catch the train during school holidays. Bombo Beach has dangerous rips but its northern end is ideal for surfers & body boarders.
