Description of Memorial: The memorial is of polished granite & located on Flagstaff Hill which overlooks the Pacific Ocean. There is a lighthouse nearby & the entire hill is parkland. Cannon from the nineteenth century guard the northern section of the hill. I was up there looking for a moveable cache (Geocaching Australia) which a friend had transported from Perth & noticed the memorial.
