African Sunset is a steel sculpture approximately eight feet high which is standing on the center median of Covell Road, between Kelly and Broadway. The sculpture consists of two curved pillars which curve toward the center. Along the inside of each pillar are five bands of color - orange, yellow and aqua.
The sculptor, Jeff Laing, has completed numerous pieces of wall art and outdoor sculpture. He has another piece on display on N. Broadway called "Duet".
A bronze plaque mounted on the concrete base platform reads:

This will most likely have to be a drive-by viewing because of the lack of parking and the traffic; however, parking can be found in the residential neighborhood just southeast of the sculpture.
