"The bell in the entrance of the Ottawa City Archives building is believed to have been used in Ottawa’s 1st City Hall on Elgin Street from 1858-1878. The bell was then installed in Ottawa’s 2nd City Hall also on Elgin St. from 1878-1931, until a fire destroyed the building."
