This life-size steel silhouette dromedary is located just south of the Roman amphitheater of Vindonissa, today Windisch.

There is no plaque or any other documentation about the sculpture. And why a dromedary here? Dromedaries were used regularly in gladiator fights in this amphitheater, that was located next to the largest Roman military camp in Switzerland. This is proven by the discovery of dromedary bones in the closer area. The theater was in use for gladiator and animal fights in the first three centuries AD.
