At the northwest corner is the statue of General von Steuben, by Albert Jaegers, the drillmaster of the Revolution and Washington's steadfast aide through the dark days at Valley Forge and afterwards.  The bas-reliefs at the rear are Col. William North and Maj. Benjamin Walker of von Steuben's staff. -Washington, City and Capital, 1937, pg. 652.

The above quote is from a section of the Guide discussing various sculptures found around Lafayette Square.  The sculpture is as described in the Guide and is at the same location.  It is well maintained and in good condition.
