Located in Alturas Cemetery is the headstone of Agnes Wall, who lived from Aug. 9, 1892 to Feb 4, 1994, making her 101 years of age. She shares her headstone with her husband, Edmund H. Wall. The only information I could locate on Agnes was a marriage announcement from the
The New Era newspaper on Oct 4, 1911 that reads:
ALLEN – WALLS
Last Sunday evening, October 9. 1911, the lives of Edmond Wall and Miss Agnes Allen were united in matrimony, the nuptial knot being tied by Rev. Isaac Clark Crook. The ceremony was performed at the Congregational Church, in the presence of a few invited guests, being principally relatives of the contracting parties.
After the ceremony was complete and congratulations had been offered and accepted, all present repaired to the Morse Hotel, where a dainty supper was served, which was greatly enjoyed by all.
The bride is the daughter of Felix Allen and is a charming young lady, who is well known in this community. The groom is the son of John Wall, the pioneer rancher of Pine Creek. We join their many friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and prosperous life.
