THE PERSON:
Robert M. Murphy served as an Oklahoma State Senator. He was born May 23, 1920 and died December 21, 2000. He is laid to rest in Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater.


THE PLACE:
This bridge on Highway 33 crosses the Cimarron River between Perkins and Cushing. On the north side of the road, at the east end of the bridge, a concrete pillar has a bronze plaque which reads:
