The Place
The center has free admission, but it is a $15 parking fee. You can spend hours here looking at every little thing. After all, this is part of the Smithsonian Collection. The center has over 700,000 square feet of empty space. Smithsonian ran out of room to put stuff on the floor, so they hung them up in the air. This facility opened to the general public in 2003, after the Smithsonian institute needed a place just for aircraft that was too big to transport to Washington, D.C.'s Air and Space Museum. They built this hanger and now it houses aircraft that are priceless.
