This blue plaque indicates the site on which the Duke of Buckingham's house stood. The plaque is to be found of the north west side of College Hill and a few sterps north of St Michael's Church.

The London Remembers website tells us:

Built, possibly, in 1672 and still there in 1720 for John Strype to write: “.. on the East side of College Hill is St. Michaels Royal Church, and almost over against the said Church, is Buckingham house, so called as being bought by the late Duke of Buckingham and where he some time resided upon a particular humour: It is a very large and graceful Building, late the Seat of Sir John Lethulier an eminent Merchant; some time Sheriff and Alderman of London, deceased.”
