The church's foundation stone was laid on 6 December 1924. St Stephen's consists of the church, it's hall & a former rectory & occupies a prominent position on Military Road. It is listed as a heritage building with the NSW Government's Environment & Heritage Office which describes it as 'Typical church architecture of the period. One of the town's oldest church buildings. This is a significant element in the townscape / streetscape with group value'.
