The former Nevada-California-Oregon Railway Co. General Office Building is currently home to Elks Lodge 1756. This building was listed in the National Register of Historic Places (
link) in 1974. From reading the nomination form submitted to NPS for this structure it mentions the architecture as being a blend of Mission Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival influences. I also located another (
website) maintained by Craig Bass that highlights this building and mentions the bell tower saying:
Note the bells in the tower... when the building was erected they chose to save money by having all but one of them made from wood.
Interesting!
I counted at least five bells in this bell tower and assumed they might have been taken from older locomotives after they retired from the railroad but it appears these bells have been in this tower since it was first erected in 1917-18.
