Le parc écologique Jean-Paul-Forand est situé sur les contreforts est du Mont-Shefford. Cet espace de conservation de 152 acres est sillonné par 6,3 km de sentiers pédestres. La vocation du parc est axée sur la protection des milieux naturels et l’observation de la nature. La randonnée pédestre, le ski de fond et la raquette y sont régulièrement pratiqués. La partie ouest du parc est surtout couverte par un marécage et deux petits plans d’eau alimentés par le cours d’eau Deschamps.
Le sentier des asters (sentier 1) vous conduira à un point de vue (petit gazebo) d'où vous pourrez admirer une vue imprenable du marécage.

Vous devrez consacrer 2-3 heures pour la randonnée complète mais ça en vaut la peine. Le parcours est magnifique du début à la fin.
Jean-Paul Forand ecological park is located on the foothills of Mount Shefford. This space conservation of 152 acres is crisscrossed by 6.3 km of hiking trails. The purpose of the park is focused on the protection of natural habitats and nature observation. Hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are regularly practiced. The western part of the park is mostly covered by a marsh and two small lakes fed by streams Deschamps.
The path of asters (path 1) will lead to the highest point of this hike where you'll find a view point (small gazebo) from where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the marsh.

Shorter hike if you park at rue Chenail parking but you may spend 2-3 hours for the full tour. It's worth it, the path is beautiful from beginning to end.
