The well itself was probably of considerable importance at the time Round Grove was settled; today, it's capped. The memorial plaque on it says:

"Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst." St. John 4:13-14

This well given in memory of Mr. & Mrs. Herman Uecker by Mrs. Hannah Uecker 1971

The Round Grove United Church also has some interesting reading about the early days of the church and the local area, noting that the Uecker family donated land for the church and cemetery. (visit link)
