In front of the church 'Marktkirche' in Essen, Germany, Nordrhein-Westfalen at the 'Porscheplatz' stands a statue of Alfred Krupp.
The statue has been created by Fritz Schaper in 1889.
The statue is made of bronze. It's height is 2.60m. It stands on a stone basement with the inscriptions 'Alfred Krupp' on the front side and 'Die dankbare Vaterstadt.' (The grateful father city.) on the reverse side.
The statue shows the portrait of Alfred Krupp in his preferred for everyday riding suit. The monument shows his left hand placed with an impacted hat in the hip, the right hand resting on an anvil.

'Alfred Krupp (1812-1887) was a German industrialist and inventor. He built the Krupp cast steel factory founded by his father, Friedrich Krupp, which has now been merged into the ThyssenKrupp AG, from the time the largest industrial enterprises in Europe.
