This wooden cross is near one of the entrances and the church itself.
For more than seventy years St. Philip's In The Hills has served the religious and spiritual needs of the people of Tucson from its beautiful campus on North Campbell at River Road. The campus centerpiece is the church, designed by Swiss-born architect Josias Joesler and built by developer John Murphey, who, with his wife Helen, envisioned and made possible this architectural masterpiece.
Currently, St. Philip's is one of the largest Episcopal churches in the nation - with a multi-clergy staff, and specialists in music, in ministries to children, youth, and adults, in spiritual formation, and in counseling. Hundreds of laypeople find an outlet for their ministries, both on the campus and throughout the community.
