There is no original documentation when the fire brigade of Gelterkinden was founded. We know that it already existed in 1864 and an additional municipal fire corps that was founded in 1865 was integrated in the older organization in 1900. In 2011 the fire brigade of Gelterkinden and neighboring Tecknau merged, both of their firehouses are still active, but now under a central leadership.
The firehouse of Gelterkinden is located in the historic town center at the foot of the church hill.
