Rotary Plaza in downtown Brownwood TX was a bicentennial gift to the community from the Brownwood Rotary Club. It was dedicated on Thanksgiving Day, 1976.
This small plaza with a flagpole in the center of a large pink granite Rotary symbol offers a nice place to sit in a busy downtown. A plaque at the flagpole reads as follows:
"ROTARY PLAZA
An
American Bicentennial
Gift
To the people of Brownwood
From
The Brownwood Rotary Club
Dedicated November 25, 1976
Thanksgiving Day"
Rotary Plaza also hosts the "Courthouses of Brown County" historic marker.
