Thsi place is well known as a fishing spot and to commemorate this, this huge statue was built.

The location is known as het Charloisse Hoofd.

Then sculpture was crafted out of 1000 meters of steel strips sized 6 x 75 millimeters, based on a computerized wire model.

The length of the fishing rod is 22 meters (73 feet).

The sculpture was designed by artist/architect Ger C. Bout (born 1950) and constructed with the help of students of various craftmanship schools in Rotterdam.
