The Turkish movie business is one of the most active of its kind, after Hollywood and Bollywood, and the cinemas played an important role in Istanbul since ever.
Istiklal street it's a long pedestrian way in the center of the city and many cinemas have been active there for a long time. Like Alkazar.
It's not easy to find information about these vintage cinema but definitely it was already functioning in the middle 20's. In 1994 there was a renovation and apparently it was shut down for good in 2010.
