Rick Farley (Richard) was an activist who campaigned for the rights of Indigenous Australians. He was also an actor, a hippie, a journalist, staffer with the Whitlam Government, the head of the Cattleman's Union & the CEO of the National Farmers Federation for 8 years.

In 1990 he, along with Phillip Toyne of the Australian Conservation Foundation, persuaded the then Federal Government to contribute substantial funds to the establishment of Landcare. Landcare is a grassroots movement dedicated to managing environmental issues in local communities from coast to country.

Rick Farley was born 9 December 1952 & died 13 May 2006.
