From the Sisters Ranger Station, travel generally NW on US20 for 9.4 miles to the intersection with FR14. Turn right on FR14 and continue 8.3 miles to the junction with FR1419-900. Turn left on FR1419-900 and continue generally S for 0.4 miles. Turn right on FR1419-980 and continue about 0.1 mile to a locked gate and the corner on the right.
Type of survey mark: 2-1/2" brass cap on iron pipe in mound of stones; rising 2"

What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?:
The corner is about 1840' N from the locked gate at a barbed wire NE fence corner. There are two Carsonite posts, both with PROPERTY BOUNDARY decals and one also with a LAND SURVEY MARKER decal. Found a ponderosa pine with a partly healed blaze, yellow BEARING TREE tag and a LAND SURVEY MONUMENT sign on the reverse side. Found a blowdown in the NW quadrant with the same metal signs plus a 60d nail and washer stamped PLS 1938. Found another corner about 690' S in the barbed wire fence line; see photographs.


What property is this mark defining?:
The land SW of the corner is House on Metolius property, else Deschutes National Forest.
