M'Chigeeng First Nation is an Ojibwe First Nation in the Manitoulin District. It's a well established band that has a registered population of 2,316 with 906 of those living on the reserve which is centred around the hamlet of West Bay.
Services on the reserve include Kenjgewin Teg Educational Institute, Ojibway Cultural Foundation, M'Chigeeng Public Library, Lakeview School and M'Chigeeng Health Centre.
The reserve has been especially active in business development over the last few years. They are one of six First Nations who partnered to build the Manitoulin Inn and Conference Centre and have partnered with 3G Energy to construct and operate a 4 MW commercial wind farm.
