Old Town San Diego is a mixture of original, refurbished and replica houses and artifacts from the original Mexican and early American settlement in California. This hand operated water pump is located behind Whaley House - one of the more prominet early homes in the area. It is now a Museum and reportedly hauntted. The backyard is open to the public and this pump, although, no longer working, fed a trough. There is no sign at the site to indicate the date...but the pump indicates it was from Rumsey & Co in Seneca Falls, NY.
