The Red Cross north building was originally constructed for the District Chapter of the Red Cross. When it was completed in 1929 it was dedicated "In Memory Of The Heroic Women Of The World War" as is inscribed below the cornice of the building. The building is now used by the National Headquarters of the American Red Cross.
