The trail is only 1.3 miles of mostly level walking on dirt trails. Signs at the trailheads show wildlife to be thirteen lined ground squirrel, white-tailed deer, striped skunk, beaver, raccoon and bobcat. Parking is available across the street to the south at Little River Marina. There is also parking at the north end of the trail at Hog Creek camp.
