This is the location of the first settlement in this area. Bailey Inglish, founder of Bonham, established the first homes in this location. Along with Inglish the first settlers to claim lands and establish homesteads. This location later in 1837 came to be known as Fannin County.
The village in its present form was built in 1976 with three log cabins from 1830s relocated from other areas in the county.
