These steps are in slight disrepair outside Town End Farm house, Colthouse. The milk churn platform is elsewhere nearer the main road, and down hill. The location is midway between the stables and the house.

The farm stopped many years ago and horse transport would have ceased after the second Great War. Beatrix Potter, who lived nearby, wrote about a horse drawn carrier before First Great War.

The only mention of these steps are on a dog walk.

of Friends Meeting House. Continue along the lane to pass an old
mounting block outside Town End farm.
