Just a short distance from Pattaya, Thailand, lies a kilometer of relatively undeveloped golden sand beach in Bangsaray popularly known as Sunset Beach. This sculpture of the a whale shark is a focal point for the main beach access.

This sculpture of a whale shark is approximately 10 feet long, which is smaller than life-size since they average at least 30 feet in length. The sculpture is made of fiberglass mounted on a fiberglass base, painted blue representing stylized waves. But is in only fair condition with areas of erosion on the body and weathering of the sign, and some portions of the base collapsed.
As tourists continue to visit and settle in the Pattaya area, notorious for its seamy nightlife, new development continues to move south along the coast. Yet, this stretch of idyllic beach remains largely untouched, with just a few small resorts and a fishing village further south.
The coordinates are taken near a large sculpture of a whale shark where there is some parking, a few shops, and easy access to the beach. But there are very few amenities here.
