Ta Waen Beach is a quarter mile stretch of beautiful sand and along the northeast coast of Koh Larn, and island off the coast of Pattaya, Thailand. There are few amenities here other than a small restaurant, loungers and umbrellas. There is a small shop that sells beach related items.

Although the water is calm and clear, there is little to see here for snorkelers, but perfect for relaxing in the sun, and light swimming. It is becoming increasingly popular with both locals and tourists.

From Pattaya Net:
"In the northernmost of Koh Larn, Ta Waen Beach, one of the most famous beach. It has 750 m long golden sand beach with clear blue water lapping against the shore. Apart from the pleasure of swimming, you can also enjoy fun activities such as jet ski and banana boat. There are shops and restaurants along the beach."

Access is available cheaply bey ferry or by high speed boats. There is no pier at the beach, so passengers are taken ashore by traditional Thai scorpion boats. The main departure point for the Koh Larn is from the Bali Hai Pier in Pattaya. There are plans for an even larger pier to attract more tourism. Bangkok Post

Although the ferries are generally reliable, a tragic accident on Nov. 3, 2013, claimed the lives of seven passengers. The pilot subsequently turned himself in admitting to having been under the influence of drugs, resulting in the navigation error that ran the ferry onto sharp rocks. Preliminary reports also indicated the the ferry was overloaded and without sufficient safety gear. Bangkok Post
