Wildlife Prairie Park is west of the city of Peoria. From I-74, take Exit 82 to Kickapoo/Edwards Street, then drive south to the park entrance on the left. After going through the admissions gate ($8 for adults), drive to the end of the road and park at the lot there. Walk up to the visitor center and the sign ahead.
The sign is a thick wooden sign stained dark, with orange painted letters. The letters state "Visitor Center El. 588 FT. or 179.4 M."
The visitor center may be on a slight hill; however, the average elevation of the prairie and farm land is near this elevation.
