Located at Plumas Bank is a tall flagpole and brick memorial wall containing a triangular plaque and markers of names of local men and women who've served our country in times of war and peace. All names are posthumously mentioned. The triangular plaque reads:

WITH REVERENCE

WE DEDICATE THIS MEMORIAL, TO THE REMEMBRANCE OF ALL
MEN AND WOMEN, WHO SERVED ON OUR COUNTRY'S BATTLEFIELDS,
IN ALL CONFLICTS AND ALL WARS, WHO MADE THE ULTIMATE
SACRIFICE

TO THOSE WHO ANSWERED THE CALL WHEN IT CAME,
THOUGH STILL BEARING THE SCARS AND WOUNDS
OF WAR, WHO NOW WAIT TO BE CALLED TO
SERVE ON THE STAFF OF THE SUPREME
COMMANDER

TO THOSE, WHO SERVED IN THE PAST,
AND PRESENTLY SERVE, WITH
PRIDE AND HUMILITY WE
SALUTE YOU.

Description of Memorial:
While visiting Alturas, I saw the tall flag pole and flag stand out on Main Street and wanted to see it close up. Upon arriving near the flag pole base I noticed the brick memorial wall with markers and plaque. I visited this location in late Fall, and I would assume in the spring and summer months there are flowers growing in front of the memorial. I was a little surprised that this memorial is located next to a bank and not somewhere a little more prominent.

Wars mentioned (Multi-war only): Not listed
