While ambling along on South Howard Street we came across this doorway. In the side of a relatively old 3 story brick building, it leads to two floors of apartments above. None of the rest of the building, nor any of the nearby buildings, are embellished to this extent. Don't know how to categorize it architecturally - maybe eclectic? It certainly is attractive, though. The doors themselves are of quarter sawn oak, telling us they're fairly old. Leaded, beveled and stained glass in the doors and the transom are nice touches - the ornate canopy finishes it off nicely.
