Looking out over the Sandy River, the Devil's Backbone', and Mt.Hood; this was the last phase of the pioneer route to Sandy.

This is a designated stop on the Oregon Scenic Byway looking towards the lower slopes of Mt.Hood and includes the Sandy River in the foreground with the Devil's Backbone in the middle ground. One of the info boards shows an idealised picture of the view. When we were there this last time, November 2013, there was low cloud and rain and a snow base of 3000' so that Mt.Hood was obscured all week. The pay telescope takes quarters, and there are three info boards, whilst the pathways to/from the car pull-off and some of the surrounding area is paved with bricks inscribed with the names of the donors to the re-modelling of the viewpoint in 1993. The car park will take five to six cars.
