This Church was built as the Knox Presbyterian Church in 1898. When the Zion Methodist Church was destroyed by fire in 1917, the congregation decided to join the Presbyterian Church instead of rebuilding. A Local Union known as The United Church of Kenora came into being on June 19, 1917 and lasted until 1925 when the United Church of Kenora officially joined the United Church of Canada to become Knox United Church.
