Standing on a 50cm high granite plinth, Noria Mabasa’s sculpture, a combination of mythology and narrative, contains numerous figures. Dominating the work are Nelson Mandela and FW De Klerk with hands clasped in triumphant salute, inviting the viewer to join them in celebrating freedom, racial tolerance and reconciliation.
Noria Mabasa's piece stands in the center of Nobel Square in front of the four bronze Nobel Peace Prize Laureate sculptures representing Nkosi Albert Luthuli, Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, former State President FW de Klerk and former President Nelson Mandela.
Nobel Square is located at the Victoria & Albert Waterfront in Cape Town.
