This devilish location is a classic train car in French Lick, IN at the Indiana Railway Museum. The train car depicts a picture of the devil, aka Pluto, the Roman god of the underworld. The train car was for Pluto Water, which is a local company that used to sell and distribute sulfur water from a number of local natural springs in the French Lick area.
The water was named Pluto Water because it came from the under the ground. The Roman god for the ground and more specifically the "underworld" or "Hell" was named Pluto. Since the water was thought to come from the underworld, they named it Pluto Water. The sulfur water was a natural laxative and was very popular in the early 1900s. The sell of the water was outlawed in 1971 as a high count of lithium was in the water and in that year, lithium became a controlled substance.
Despite the waymark being a wheeled vehicle, it is permanently housed at the rail station as an exhibit for the museum and a reminder of the local history of French Lick.
