Depicted two Baroque southern-oriented sundials you can find in the prelature' courtyard of the Benedictine Archabbey (Benediktinské arciopatství) in Prague-Brevnov.
The left sundial is inscripted in Latin: "SOL COGNOVIT OCCASUM SUUM" ("The sun knoweth his going down" / "Slunce si odpocítalo svuj západ"). The right one bears following Latin inscription: "ORTUS EST SOL" ("The Sun is rising" / "Východ slunce"). The sundials, both reconstructed in 1992, originates probably from the first decade of the 18th century.
Sundials you can visit during Archabbey' sightseeing tour (Sat, Sun - 10:00-16:00).
