The TS No. 1000, devoted to Benedictine Archabbey in Prague' district Brevnov (shortened: Brevnov Monastery), depicts symbol on the roof of Archabbey' Basilica - so called "St. Benedict Cross". The Brevnov Monastery (In Czech: Brevnovský klášter), founded by Czech martyr St. Vojtech (Adalbert) and Duke Boleslav II in 993, is the oldest monastery in the Czech lands.
The symbol is known from st. Benedict medal - which is one of the oldest and most honored medals used by Catholics and due to the belief in its power against evil is also known as the "devil-chasing medal". As early as the 11th century, it may have initially had the form of Saint Benedict's cross, and was used by pope Leo IX.
The symbol called The Cross of Holy Father Benedict is cross with longer perpendicular arm, written in oval (or circle). Between cross' arms are letters C S P B: Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti — The Cross of Holy Father Benedict
On the Cross are letters:
perpendicularly C S S M L: Crux Sancta Sit Mihi Lux — May the holy cross be my light!
on horizontal arm N D S M D: Non Draco Sit Mihi Dux — May the dragon never be my overlord!
On oval (circle) around the Cross are letters V R S N S M V S M Q L I V B: Vade Retro Satana Numquam Suade Mihi Vana Sunt Mala Quæ Libas Ipse Venena Bibas — Begone Satan! Never tempt me with your vanities! What you offer me is evil. Drink the poison yourself!
Symbol na streše Baziliky Sv. Markéty je tzv. Kríž sv. otce Benedikta. Jde o kríž s delším svislým ramenem (vyskytuje si i kríž rovnoramenný), vepsaný do oválu (nebo kruhu). Mezi rameny kríže jsou písmena C S P B: Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti — Kríž svatého otce Benedikta.
Na kríži jsou písmena:
svisle C S S M L: Crux Sancta Sit Mihi Lux — Svatý kríž mi bud svetlem
na prícném brevnu N D S M D: Non Draco Sit Mihi Dux — drak (tj. dábel) at mi není vudcem.
