The Church of Pont-du-Chateau is one of the few churches dedicated to St. Martine, Roman virgin and martyr, who lived in the third century.
It is built on a hill because the church served before the Carolingian period fortress. Located in the suburb of sailors, it was dedicated to the boatmen.
