This mural depicts various sports being played, including soccer, baseball/softball, lacrosse, curling, skateboarding, hockey, figure skating, and mountain biking. The mural is made up of 128 separate 11-inch-square ceramic tiles, each apparently decorated by different artists (likely youth who use the recreation centre). It appears that the artists used clay of different colours to create their individual piece of the overall mural, then each tile was fired to create a hardened ceramic tile. The tiles are arranged in an 8 by 16 grid and combine to provide the complete picture. The resulting mural is about 16 feet wide by 8 feet tall and is mounted about 6 feet above the ground on the side of the building. It looks like it has been in place for a number of years, because some of the grout is missing from between the tiles and one tile in the top row is missing entirely. I've been unable to find any information about this mural.
