The plaque is in the middle of Lincoln Park. It reads: "One thousand feet due west was a prehistoric mound, 400 ft long and 150 ft wide and 16 ft high. The remains of 450 Indians with stone implements and shell ornaments were found when the mound was removed in 1908."
